In which materials can you print 3D awards?

The designers at 3D Trophy Factory have many materials and production techniques to choose from when creating a design for a new award, trophy or business gift. One of the most used production techniques to bring our award designs to live is 3D printing.

There are many materials to choose from when it comes to 3D printing. Generally speaking the purpose of the printed product often dictates the print material but in the case of 3D printed awards and trophies almost anything goes!

The most commonly used materials are plastics and metals (which are actually first printed in wax and then cast in the right metal). The print material you choose, goes hand in hand with the production method used.

SLA vs SLS

The most commonly used production methods for 3D printing at this time are SLA and SLS.

Briefly, stereolithography (SLA) is a printing method where material is added in layers.

Laser sintering (SLS) is a printing method where the model is built up from a powder batch.

A list of the our most commonly used materials for 3D printing awards and trophies.

Polyamide (nylon)
