The gaming industry has definitely gone trough some major changes over the last few years, with competitive gaming reaching new heights of popularity. After we made the insane looking award for King of the Kill a few weeks ago, we started to get curious.. It seems that competitive gaming has been taken out of the player’s living room and placed into the world’s biggest venues. Thousands of spectators are watching these games live, and we’re not even mentioning the ones that view these tournaments on live streams.
Competitive gaming or e-sports are a million dollar industry with an extremely loyal community of gaming enthusiasts and fans. More than 20 years after the first video game tournaments, the top eSports events draw audiences that would make traditional sports events jealous. Companies like Coca cola, Nissan and Red bull are just some of the high-level sponsors that are part of this insane marketing machine. This results in prize money that trumps tournaments such as Tour de France or the Super bowl. If you want your kid to become the next top-earning athlete, then you might want to reconsider buying a PS4 of a PC instead of those of expensive private tennis lessons.
With numerous tournaments taking place every year there is big money to be earned in professional gaming. How to be a millionaire in a few years? 1. Say farewell to your social life 2. Learn how to play one of these games :

And the award for scariest trophy goes to..
In collobaration with daybreak games, 3D trophy factory has made it’s scariest, coolest looking trophy to date : The King of the Kill trophy.
Inspiration for this cool trophy is the video game “King of the Kill” : a highly competitive, fast-paced, fight-to-the-death shooter. On October 2nd , the award was handed out during the H1Z1 invitational. The H1Z1 invitational is a frenzied kill-or-be-killed spectacle, in which every player has one goal in mind: be the last one standing.
The winners of the competition were able to take home these awesome trophies. We do advise the lucky winners to showcase the trophy in a non-scary, happy place and keep away from small children. Congratulations to all winners!
In our series on on what inspires us, we take a look at Scandinavian design.
A minimalist, contemporary and elegant style that keeps clean lines but plays around with different textures and materials to give the design more depth and interest.
Scandinavian design is characterized by the use of cool and light colors, the implementation of geometric patterns and the combination of natural materials with new high-tech resources.
The geometric theme is not only very popular in interior design but also jewelers get inspired by this style. Traditional materials such as wood and precious metals are used to create modern and sleek designs. Triangles, oak and light pastel colors make for a contemporary and elegant look.
We love this style so much because it allows us to play around with the latest techniques and materials such as 3D printing which allows us to create intricate geometric designs. In combination with more traditional materials like wood our awards and trophies get a warm look and feel! The Scandinavian design was the primary inspiration for our most popular award design, the 3D text totem. The 3D printed text and oak foot form an harmonious award that can be fully customized to refer to the winner who will receive it.If you like our text totems and you are looking for a unique award, you can create these text totems yourself in our webshop. Please click here…
As you can see there are many possiblities within this design style and we hope you got inspired as well.
