On March 9th and March 23rd, the annual Shopping awards took place. The wait is finally over, and we now know the best web shops and omnichannel retailers of 2017 in The Netherlands! Continue reading “The Shopping Awards recognizes outstanding e-commerce talent in The Netherlands!”
Multi-brand retailer JUTTU can call itself the proud winner of the bpost Omnichannel Award 2017. The event took place February 2th in Antwerp Urban City. The award was created by our designers at 3D Trophy Factory and is made out of plexiglass with a 3D-printed silver part on top. Other nominees were Hunkemöller and Media Markt.
Omnichannel is a recent strategy that is used to increase customer experience, by making a full integration between the online and offline channels. That way customers can choose which channel they want to use, and they can easily switch from one channel to another. Every channel offers the same information source, experience, pricing… JUTTU won the award because the retailer succeeded in positioning the customer as a central point in their strategy and letting the different channels move around the customer. The multi-brand retailer offers the offline store experience also in the online webshops.
JUTTU is a multi-brand retailer for fashion, decoration and food. JUTTU has a store in Antwerp, Roeselare and Brugge. The retailer recently opened its stores in 2015, so the award is a great recognition for JUTTU’s omnichannel strategy.
Earlier this year, The Belgian race pigeon “Golden Prince” from Wevelgem has fetched 360,000 euros at an online auction. Auction house Pipa claims that this makes Golden Prince the most expensive pigeon ever. The winning bid is from South Africa.
Belgium enjoys a long-time tradition in the breeding of racing pigeons. Buyers often come from abroad, from countries like China.
Pigeon racing is the sport of releasing specially trained racing pigeons, which then return to their homes over a carefully measured distance. The time it takes the animal to cover the specified distance is measured and the bird’s rate of travel is calculated and compared with all of the other pigeons in the race to determine which animal returned at the highest speed.
Most of the time the trophies are classic, meaning heavy decorated and gold or silver plated. But since the sport is clearly entering a new era – new investors, new tracking technology – we believe a change is needed. Our designers made these clean and simplistic (3D printed) trophies, fit for pigeon racing in the 21st century. What do you think?
The very first “Belgian Big Screen Award”, an annual price for the most popular movie in Belgian theatres, was awarded this week by the Flemish prime minister Kris Peeters to the computer animated movie “Finding Dory” from The Walt Disney Company.
Finding Dory is a 2016 American 3D computer-animated comedy-drama adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Finding Dory focuses on the fish Dory, who journeys to be reunited with her parents.
Prime Minister Kris Peeters, Minister of work, economy, consumer business and foreign trade adds : “The audiovisual sector provides about 5000 jobs in Belgium alone, not to forget that this is and will also stay a growing industry. Between 2008 and 2014 the amount of companies in the audiovisual industry in Flanders increased with a staggering 50%. This has everything to do with the many creative and entrepreneurial talents in our country, that follow their passion. The federal government remains to support this important industry with the Tax Shelter, that provides an amount of 55 million euros to be used for movie productions. “
Serge Van Eyck, Deputy manager The Walt Disney Company : “Our Belgian team has about 50 very motivated employees, that make sure that the Belgian audience, big and small, can see Disney movies in Belgian theaters. Therefore this Belgian Big Screen Award for Finding Dory is a great recognition for my colleagues and myself. “
For the fifth year in a row, Flanders Investment & Trade held the prestigious Foreign Investment Trophy on February 21, 2017. The Ghelamco Arena in Ghent provided a setting fit for this thrilling investment competition – highlighting the importance of foreign investment as an economic driver in Flanders and the world.
While five multinationals competed for the trophy for Investment of the Year, two other investors were acknowledged – one with the Lifetime Achievement Trophy, the other with the title of Newcomer of the Year
And the winners are…
A few months ago we received a very unusual request: “Could you please make us an award in the shape of Trump-hair that is wobbling around on a moving spiral?”
I’m guessing that at this point everybody must have heard about Donald Trump. Without getting too political, let’s just say he’s famous because he’s the president-elect of the united states. What else is he famous for: his all natural(?) weaves; canary-blond and full of secrets. It’s safe to say that our design team was pretty exited when we read the e-mail.
This was definitely one of the most fun challenges for the team. After some sketching and research we finally had our model ready. Then there awaited us another challenge: finding the spiral that would fit the 3D printed hair without moving too much so the award would break or bend over.
When we finally puzzled everything together and we were super proud of the result! What do you think?
We’ve made the award for Belgian TV show M/V van het jaar (translation: Man/Woman of the year). This quiz featured Belgium’s biggest names in entertainment and television. The winner was Belgian director and presenter Erik Van Looy. Well done and good luck with your fabulous award!
Who ever said that the Pokemon revival hit it’s peak this summer with Pokemon Go has no idea what they’re talking about. The hype is still going strong, with a number of new and old disciplines where the famous characters gain an enthusiastic following of fans.
It’s safe to say that the madness isn’t stopping with Pokemon Go. Card games, merchandising, movies, toys, videogames, even Pokemon donuts are a thing now apparently.
3D trophy factory is also not planning to give up on Pokemon just yet. Apart from catching the occasional Spearow in our office, we’ve also made the awards for the first International Pokemon Championship that took place in London this december.
Players from around the world gathered at the ExCel Centre in London for the first International Championship of the season Play! Pokémon 2017 . Players are challenged both to the Pokémon Trading Card Game and video game Pokémon Sun and Moon where they are competing for three days to find out who would win the tournament.
The event is the first of its kind, as well as three of the International Championship tournaments scheduled in the Rating Zone Oceania, North America, South America and other important upcoming tournaments across Europe.
The European champions, along with other successful participants from around the world have increased their Points Championship with the aim of securing a place at the 2017 World Championships. Well done to all players!
The trophy-making business can be very awarding (pun intended). We make things everybody loves to get.
And we’ve made them for tons of different occasions; business events, gaming tournaments, marketing awards, golf tournaments and many more.
We saw that our clients are keen to make sure their winners have an memorable experience. We’re asked to design the most crazy and original trophies that are handed out in top-notch award shows. When we see the end-result and pictures of the happy winners, we always feel very proud to be part of such happy moments.
Yet in every company, there are hidden winners that also deserve recognition. People that give their best everyday to deliver the best service or product possible. It’s important to remember that a company’s internal audience is as important as their external audience. Employees need to be recognized for their work, this is essential for every exceptional work place.
Awards are a perfect way to express recognition, for the simple reason that prizes are designed to produce more effort, to give people something to strive towards. This is of great importance in every company, because appreciation is a fundamental human need.
Agreed, there are performance evaluations, year-end reviews and touch-points. These are all moments where an employer has the opportunity to praise an employee for their good work, but nothing says ‘thank you’ more clearly then a beautiful, shiny (3D printed) award.
So if you need some inspiration in how to start your own internal awards program, we are happy to present some of our past projects and collaborations :
1. A company’s anniversary.
The Belgian company Twikit recently celebrated their 4th anniversary, and because companies have birthdays too, the team organized a surprise party. Complete with decorations, balloons, pizza and a 3D printed award with a real candle, the birthday bash was one to remember.
2. Reaching a sales target.
Reaching a sales target is often seen a milestone. Keeping your staff motivated to do even better next term is therefore critical. With that in mind, we’ve created this simple yet elegant text totem. Feeling inspired? In our webshop there are numerous examples of easy-to-create text totems and awards.
3. The annual company party.
The annual company party is thé opportunity to recognize hard-working employees. Think further than the obligatory casino night or black&white party, and organize an award show for your employees.
Take the Viacom velocity awards ; they hosted their own internal awards show, showcasing their work into several categories and a grand prix winner. The event is a yearly celebration that combines a fun evening between co-workers with an exiting award show.
4. And pretty much everything else.
There are endless occasions and events to present awards in your company, we just named a few. A co-worker that is retired? Employee of the month? Or award that one colleague that is infamous for their bad jokes? Everything is possible. For a custom award or inspiration, don’t hesitate to contact one our designers.
